Store prices include platform fees, so the web price is usually a little lower. Your Pro unlock is tied to your Fretscape account, not the device you bought it on. Buy on web or Android, sign in with the same account, and Pro works on both once the purchase has finished processing.

What's actually going on

When you buy through the Android app, the purchase is processed through Google Play. App-store purchases include platform fees, which are reflected in the Android price.

When you buy on the web, the purchase is processed through Fretscape’s web checkout instead. That still has normal payment processing costs, but it does not include the app-store platform fee.

The end result is simple: the web price for Pro is usually lower than the Android price for the same Pro unlock.

Which one should I buy on?

Either works. Pro is Pro — same features, same one-time payment.

  • Buying on the web is usually a little cheaper.
  • Buying in the Android app is convenient if you are already in the app, but usually costs a little more because of the platform fee.

Whichever you choose, sign in with the same Fretscape account on every device and Pro will appear on all of them. See Restore Pro on a new device for how the account-tied unlock works.

Is Android Pro different from web Pro?

No.

Fretscape Pro is the same unlock whether you buy on the web or in the Android app. You get the same voicings, tunings, progression optimiser, filters, and Pro features.

The price can differ because the payment route differs. The product does not.

Already bought on one and looking on the other?

If you already paid and Pro hasn't appeared yet, see:
