On the Free tier, Fretscape shows up to 5 voicings per chord, with 2 fingering options for each. Most chords have far more than that — Am alone has hundreds of playable shapes once you count higher positions and inversions. Pro lifts the cap so the result list shows every voicing Fretscape has for the chord you searched.

What you're seeing on Free

Free leads with the most useful 5 voicings — typically the open or low-position shapes that work for most playing situations. For each of those 5, you also get 2 fingering options, so you can pick the one that sits best in your hand. That's enough to find a workable shape for almost any chord, which is why Free is a genuine chord tool rather than a trial — see Is Fretscape free? for the full Free vs Pro picture.

The 5-voicing cap applies no matter how you filter. Changing the fret range, switching Voicing Type to Triads, or narrowing the difficulty all change which 5 voicings Fretscape picks — but you never see more than 5 at once. So a Free user can dip into different parts of the chord's territory by adjusting filters, but never sees the whole picture in a single list. Fingering options have the same kind of cap: 2 per voicing on Free, regardless of how many Fretscape has rated for that shape.

What changes on Pro

Pro removes the cap entirely. You see every voicing Fretscape has rated for the chord, in every position, with every fingering option. Combined with the Pro filters — strings, max fingers, inversions, bass note, barre control — you can narrow hundreds of voicings down to the exact handful that fit what you're trying to play.
