Yes. You need a free account to use Fretscape. The account is what lets your favourites, progressions, settings, and (if you've bought it) your Pro unlock follow you from the web to your Android phone and back.

Why an account is needed

Fretscape is more useful when it remembers what you've done. Save a voicing, build a progression, set your filters and tuning the way you like them — and they're there the next time you sign in, on whichever device you're using.

The account also anchors your Pro purchase. Pro is tied to your Fretscape account, not to the device or browser you bought it on. Sign in with the same account on a new phone or laptop and Pro is already there.

How to create one

Sign up takes a couple of seconds. Head to the sign-up page and either:

• Use email and a password. You'll get a confirmation email — click the link in it to finish creating the account. If it doesn't arrive, see Didn't get the confirmation email?.
• Sign in with Google. Tap the Google button on the sign-up screen and pick the Google account you want to use. No password to remember.

Either route works on the web and in the Android app. If you start on the web and later install the Android app (or vice versa), sign in with the same account and everything carries over.

A note on Apple Sign-In

Apple Sign-In isn't available at launch. Email and Google are the supported options today.

Age requirement

You need to be 18 or older to create a Fretscape account. This is set out in our Terms of Service.
