If you can sign in, open Profile Settings from the user menu, expand the Change Password section under Security, and enter your current and new password. If you can't sign in, use Forgot password instead.

Change it from Profile Settings

Once you're signed in:

  1. Open the user menu in the top-right corner and choose Profile Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Security section.
  3. Tap Change Password to expand the section.
  4. Type your Current Password, then your New Password (8 characters or more), then confirm the new one.
  5. Tap Save Changes at the bottom of the modal.

The new password takes effect right away. You stay signed in on the device you changed it from. Other devices that are already signed in stay signed in until they sign out themselves. If you're worried someone else has access, follow up with Sign out of all devices — that signs everything out and forces them to sign back in with the new password.

Reset it from the login page

If you've forgotten your password, head to the Forgot password page, enter your email, and tap Submit. Fretscape emails a reset link — open it and choose a new password on the New password screen.

The reset link is single-use and expires within about an hour, so use it quickly. If the email doesn't arrive, see I didn't receive my password-reset email.

What if I don't see "Change Password"?

The Change Password section only appears for accounts that were created with email and password. If you originally signed up with Google, there's no password on the account to change — your Google account is your sign-in.

If you want to set up a password as a backup, sign out, then use Forgot password with the email on your Google account. Fretscape will email you a link and let you set a password while keeping Google sign-in available too.

Password rules

  • Minimum 8 characters.
  • New password must be different from the current one.
  • Your password is stored securely — Fretscape never sees the actual characters you typed.

Trouble changing it

If Save Changes fails, you'll see "Failed to change password" — most often that means the current password didn't match. Try Forgot password instead to reset it without needing the current value.
