Open Profile Settings from the user menu, scroll to Danger Zone, tap Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete My Account. Your account and saved data are removed immediately. There's no undo.

You can also start from the Account Deletion page, which opens Profile Settings for you.

Step by step

  1. Sign in to Fretscape.
  2. Open the user menu and choose Profile Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom of the modal.
  4. Tap the red Delete Account button. A confirmation panel appears with a warning.
  5. Type DELETE (uppercase, exactly) into the confirmation field.
  6. Tap Delete My Account.

You'll be signed out and sent back to the Fretscape home page. The account is gone at this point — see What happens to my data when I delete my account for what is and isn't kept.

What gets deleted

Right away, Fretscape removes:

  • Your sign-in details (email and password, or your Google account link).
  • Your display name and email address.
  • Your chord preferences and saved settings.
  • Your saved progressions and favourites.
  • The billing record Fretscape keeps on your account.

What about Pro?

Deleting your account ends access to Pro on that account. Pro is tied to the account, not to you as a person — so if you delete and later sign up again, you'd be on the Free tier on the new account.

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to the account and can't sign in to use Profile Settings, email help@fretscape.com from the email address on your account. Include "account deletion" in the subject. We'll verify and process the deletion within 48 hours.

This route exists specifically for people who can no longer sign in — if you can sign in, please use the in-app deletion above; it's instant.

This can't be undone

Once deletion completes, there's no recovery option. The same email can sign up for a new account later, but it will be a fresh Free-tier account with nothing carried over from the old one.
