Open Profile Settings from the user menu, edit the Display Name field, and tap Save Changes. The new name applies immediately across the app and on any other device you've signed in on.

Change it

  1. Open the user menu in the top-right corner and choose Profile Settings.
  2. In the Personal Information section, edit the Display Name field.
  3. Tap Save Changes at the bottom of the modal.

There's no confirmation step — the change takes effect right away.

Rules

  • Between 1 and 50 characters.
  • Most characters are accepted, including spaces, accents, and emoji.
  • It's not publicly visible to other Fretscape users; it just personalises the app for you and shows up in account-related emails.

What this is not

Your display name is separate from your email address (which is your sign-in) and from your Google account name (if you signed in with Google). Changing your display name in Fretscape doesn't touch your Google profile, and changing your Google name doesn't update your Fretscape display name — you'd need to update it here too.

Still seeing the old name somewhere?

Most places in Fretscape pull the display name fresh, so it should update straight away after Save Changes. If you see the old name somewhere, sign out and back in — that refreshes the app. If a future email still uses the old name, email help@fretscape.com.
