Voicings și Diagrame

Every chord diagram in Fretscape can label its dots one of three ways: Fingers (1, 2, 3, 4), Notes (C, E, G), or Intervals (R, 3, 5). You pick which one you want to see — and the choice sticks across the whole app, no matter where you change it.

The three places

There are three places to change the display mode. They all share the same setting, so changing it in one place changes it everywhere else too.

In a voicing's details

Tap any voicing card to open the details panel. Above the large diagram, you'll see a three-button toggle: Fingers, Notes, Intervals. Tap whichever you want; the diagram updates straight away, and the new mode is now the default everywhere else.

In Reverse Lookup

Open Reverse Lookup and tap Options in the top-right. The first row of the Options panel is DISPLAY MODE, with three buttons — Notes, Int, Finger. Same three modes, but the labels are shortened and the order isn't the same as the voicing details panel, so read the labels rather than expecting the buttons in the same place. Tap one and the fretboard's note bubbles update.

In Settings

Open Settings from the bottom of the app. Under DIAGRAM, look for Dot Labels — the same three buttons sit there. Pick one and press Save Changes. Your choice then shows on the voicing details panel, Reverse Lookup, and every diagram on the page.

Which one should I use?

Use the mode that matches what you're trying to do:

  • Fingers when you want to learn the grip.
  • Notes when you care about the actual pitches, the chord's spelling, or where the chord tones sit on the neck.
  • Intervals when you want to see the shape's structure — root, third, fifth, seventh — so you can move it, compare it, or recognise the same structure in another key.

You don't have to pick one forever. Many players use Fingers when they're learning a shape and switch to Notes or Intervals when they want to understand what the shape is doing. The toggle in the voicing details panel is the fastest way to switch back and forth without going into Settings.
