You have a set of rights over the personal data Fretscape holds about you, and the simplest way to use any of them is to email help@fretscape.com from your account address. The sections below walk through each right — what it means, and what to do if you want to use it.

The exact list of rights you have depends on where you live: EU, UK, and Swiss residents have rights under GDPR; US residents in certain states have rights under laws like the CCPA. For the full legal version, see the Privacy Policy.

Right of access — see what we hold

You can ask for a copy of the data tied to your account at any time. Email help@fretscape.com from your account address and we'll put it together and send it back. See How do I request a copy of my data? for the full process and what's included.

Right of correction — fix what's wrong

If something we hold is wrong, you can change it yourself:

For anything you can't change in the app, email help@fretscape.com.

Right of deletion — remove your account

You can delete your Fretscape account at any time from Profile Settings → Danger Zone. See Delete your account for the steps.

What gets deleted, what stays, and why are covered in What happens to my data when I delete my account?.

Right of data portability — take your data with you

The data copy from the access request above is a portable copy — you can keep it for your records or move it to another tool. We don't currently support exporting saved progressions or favourites into other apps' file formats; if that's something you need, email help@fretscape.com and we'll do what we can.

If you previously accepted analytics cookies, you can change your mind at any time. Open the Cookie Policy page and use the Reset cookie preferences link — the consent banner will reappear so you can decline.

See What cookies does Fretscape use? for what each cookie does.

If you're getting email from Fretscape you didn't ask for, reply and tell us, or email help@fretscape.com — we'll stop sending it.

Right to object — ask us to stop using your data in a specific way

If there's a particular use of your data you'd like us to stop, email help@fretscape.com and explain what you'd like and why. We'll look at the request and reply.

Right to complain

If you think we've handled your data badly and we haven't put it right, you can complain to your local data-protection authority — for example the ICO in the UK, your national supervisory authority in the EU, or your state attorney general in the US. We'd rather hear from you first so we have a chance to fix it, but the complaint route is yours either way.

What happens after you ask

We'll acknowledge most requests within a few business days and aim to resolve them within 30 days, in line with GDPR. If we need more time we'll let you know why. There's no charge for normal requests.
