On the login page or the sign-up page, tap the Google button under the email/password form and pick the Google account you want to use. There's no separate confirmation step — you're signed in as soon as you finish the Google prompt.

On the web

Tapping Google opens a Google sign-in popup or tab. Pick the account, approve the basic profile permission (your name and email), and you'll bounce back to Fretscape signed in.

If you've used Google sign-in in this browser before, the prompt may auto-select the right account in a second or two.

In the Android app

In the Fretscape Android app, tapping Google opens your phone's default browser for a few seconds — that's normal. Google handles the sign-in there, then sends you straight back to Fretscape. If your phone asks "Open with Fretscape?", say yes.

If the browser opens but never returns to Fretscape, check that your default-browser app is set to something current (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and try again.

"Same email" means "same account"

If you originally signed up with email and password, then later sign in with Google using the same email address, Fretscape treats those as one account — your favourites, progressions, and Pro unlock carry over. You can switch between the two sign-in methods freely.

The catch is different email addresses. If your Google account is on you@personal.com but you originally signed up with you@work.com, those are two separate accounts in Fretscape's eyes. If you've already bought Pro, see I bought Pro before signing in, or with a different email.

What about Apple Sign-In?

Apple Sign-In isn't available at launch — it ships alongside the iOS app when that's ready. For now, email and Google are the two ways in. Both work on iPhone and iPad through the browser. See Is there an iOS app? for the latest.

Trouble signing in with Google

A few things to try if Google sign-in won't complete:

  • Make sure pop-ups aren't blocked for the Fretscape site.
  • Sign out of any other Google account in the same browser tab, then try again so the right account is picked.
  • On Android, check that your default browser is something current (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) — see Supported browsers and devices.
