Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to register for and use Fretscape, as set out in our Terms of Service. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Why 18 and not younger?

Rules around handling personal data for under-18s vary a lot from country to country. Rather than try to manage different rules per country and per age band, we set a single age and apply it everywhere.

Younger players

Fretscape is a useful tool for guitarists of any age, and we know plenty of younger players will want to use it. The right path is for a parent or guardian to set up the account and let them use it from there. The account stays in the adult's name and the adult is the one who agrees to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

If you signed up and you're under 18

If you have an account and you're under 18, please email help@fretscape.com (or ask a parent or guardian to email on your behalf) so we can close the account and remove the data. See What happens to my data when I delete my account? for what gets removed.

If you spot an under-18 account

If you believe a child under 18 has set up a Fretscape account, please email help@fretscape.com with whatever detail you can share. We'll look into it and remove the account if the age rule applies.
