移动端浏览器故障排查

Use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone and iPad. Those are the two mobile browsers Fretscape is tested against most often, and they're the most likely to give you a smooth experience. Most other modern mobile browsers work fine, but if something looks broken, try Chrome or Safari before assuming there's a real problem.

On Android

Chrome is the default browser on most Android phones and the one we use day-to-day for testing. If you'd rather not use Chrome, modern versions of Firefox, Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi all work — they behave similarly to Chrome on most pages.

Or skip the browser entirely and install the Fretscape Android app. It's the same experience, just without the browser address bar taking up screen space.

On iPhone or iPad

Use Safari. It's the most native option on iOS, and audio playback in particular works most smoothly there. Chrome and Firefox on iOS also work — Apple makes every browser on iPhone and iPad behave like Safari at the level Fretscape cares about, so the experience is roughly the same either way.

There isn't an iOS app yet. See Is there an iOS app? for the current status.

What to avoid

  • Very old browser versions. If your browser hasn't updated in a year or more, things may start to break. Update your phone's OS and try again.
  • Private or incognito tabs. Some Fretscape preferences are stored in your browser, and private tabs throw those away when you close them. If you're signed in, your account-level settings still work — but local settings (recent searches, the chord builder state) won't stick.
  • Older versions of Samsung Internet or other less-common browsers — they may work fine, but if something looks off, try Chrome first.

If something feels broken

A quick sanity check before reaching out:

  1. Pull down to refresh the page (in the browser) or restart the app.
  2. Open the same screen in Chrome or Safari and see if it still misbehaves.
  3. Make sure you're not in a private/incognito tab.

If it still looks wrong after that, email help@fretscape.com with your phone model, browser, and a quick description of what you saw. The more specific you can be, the faster we can help.
