How do I add or leave a note out of a chord?
Tap 3 or 5 in the Omit row to drop the third or fifth. For extensions and upper alterations, long-press or cycle the chip to choose the musically valid modes.
Can I just type the chord name?
Yes — use the Type a chord box below the builder. Type the chord name, press Enter, and Fretscape fills in the builder buttons for you.
What is a voicing?
A voicing is one specific way to play a chord on the neck. Same chord, different shape, different position, different feel.
Why are there so many voicings for one chord?
A single chord can be played dozens of ways on the neck — different positions, different string subsets, different inversions. Fretscape shows them all so you can pick the one that fits.
What do Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced mean?
The difficulty rating on each voicing card reflects how the shape actually feels to play — finger count, stretch, barres, and how naturally the hand sits.
What do the filters do?
A tour of the filter panel — difficulty, fret range, open chords, barre chords, strings, inversions, bass note, and fingering — so you can narrow voicings down to the ones you can actually play.
